Anybody got any ideas on action in and around Samara?

I'll be staying at the suenos tropical for a couple of nights in Feb.

I know. Way off the beaten path. If I told you why, you'd think I was nutz.

hotluck,

I haven't been to Samara, but...

I love that coast. I have been to Potero, Flamingo, Tamarindo, Mal Pais & Tambor. Did I say I love it? Especially looking out at the ocean and knowing there's nothing to the west until you hit the Marshel Islands or the Philppines if you miss those - BIG OCEAN!

It is LAID BACK and tranquilo. It it SUN (watch it bro, bring damn good sunscreen, serious). If you want it, there will be SOLITUDE, this whole coast is incredible. Bring like a pair a shorts and sandels out there, a shirt if you are respectable. Most places that is all you need, it is HOT! Some stretches of beach you can skip even most of those.

On weekends, there is PARTIES, every town has parties and a party place or two or three. Drink dance salsa gamble play pool talk eat ect ect. IMHO the GRRLS are every where ever you are. You need to have an inquireing mind and maybe a little time to spend. The TAXI guys are your best source - be-friend them and tip em good. Be discriminating (careful) as well.

If you don't happen to score on any givin day, then well, it is Pura Vida Mae. Tranquilo si?

Hope you file a trip report when you come back to reality, to see if you agree with this opinion. I'm going next week and will report for sure.

Que le via bien - when are you going to be out there?

Cinco dias mas para mi.

I'll be there the 16, 17 and 18Feb.

I know you guys won't believe this but, I'm really am going fishing in Costa Rica. Probly the only gringo in the last 10 years to do so. LoL

Late Dec thru late March is supposed to be prime Marlin for this area. As of last Wednesday, Nothing.... the fishing sucks... Hope it picks up.

Of course, wetting a line will be intermixed with getting my lure wet as well. :P

Been to Flamingo also. nice spot on the earth. a little slow for land based action as well.

anyone care to compare fishing notes, send me a PM. I've been to Quepos, Flamingo X 2, Los Chiles and Bara Colorado. Excellent fishing.

See you at the MB on the 14th....

Hotluck

Believe it or not there are other fishermen around. We are planning a trip in the first week of May to the Jungle Tarpon Lodge. Do you know this place? It looks pretty remote from the brochure somewhere on the Carribean coast. The brochure doesnt even say where it is on the map so any local info would be useful. It will be our first time in CR with 2 days either side of the fishing in SJ.

....or lack of it. Its nice to hear that there is some action in Samara. It must be a real turn on to find TWO girls in the largest provence in CR at 10:30 at night...with the promise of two more coming...that makes four!! with a line of Ticos waiting to sample them. There is nothing I enjoy more after a great day of fishing then to wait in line with the guys for my chance to enjoy the good life....I love this place.

Yo Ho, Pirate.

my post was in response to all the "no action" in Samara post. I never said it was good action. just action. something, somewhere to go for a beer and fun times. Never said it was greatest.

Then again, I just know all the puss you get in SJO sits home all year awaiting your arrival. No long line of locals doing your Gal. :P

I discovered a place in the Woods to go and have a fun time. You deem it necessary to crap on me. Por Que?

Please post your list of Jungle spots to the group.

Help All, Hurt None.

Pura Vida.

Post subject:  Samara action...

This conversation highlites the situation...outside of SJ there isn't ALOT OF action...some....but very sparse. Jaco for all the noise has the Beatle Bar...and little else. Quepos...some....but the bar I was in in Quepos...the Green Shit or something....was full of football players....Alajuela has 'Jupiter'....retired lineman from the rams could work there....Heredia(zip).

The action in Guenacaste sucks. What's important is for travelors to know it to keep expectations down in some of these places so that any surprises are on the POSITIVE side...not the down side. What can be fun in the outlying areas is Trying? to establish something with a local, 'regular' girl.
