If you are driving from Golfito to Pavones via Paso Canoa, FYI the big ass pot holes are back.

Road conditions from Canoa to Laurel are really so so. Local taxistas are putting large rocks next to the pot holes so as to warn on coming drivers.They are asking for donations as well to fix up the holes themselves.
The funny thing is, about 30 feet away from the tico border, the Panamanians are upgrading their already almost perfect roads. Tico government, potholes...... ...............sigh.

Anyway, from Laurel and on conditions are fine. Locals said the airstrip in Laurel are being rebuilt and will be reopened for commercial use, so that's a piece of good news.

Be a bit more careful if you plan to visit Canoa and walk the streets there, locals said there have been gang related shootings in the past weeks, with victims being pulled from stores in broad daylight, then shot and dumped near the border. So keep your eyes open. Travel safe.
