Just for clarification, Parasidiso has long had a "Texas Hold'em" version of Tute (carribean Stud Poker) available at the tables, but no REAL T.H.'em games. They DO have Balckjack tourneys on Saturdays at 8pm that are tons of fun. If they recently implemented REAL Texas Hold'em at the Paradiso, it is news to me, but great news nontheless and long overdue... The Clarions' Paradiso casino is easily my favorite casino is San Jose, and guys like Nixon, Graham, and the rest of the gang really go out of their way to provide a fun atmosphere. If it is in fact true that they have Texas Hold'em tourneys here, I, too, would love to hear the details... I'll be there in two weeks and in Thanksgiving so I'll be playing away if there's something available. Someone spit out the 411!! Ruffnutz |

RN, Perhaps you missed this post from Admin1., Quote: Have no idea what the issues are at the Horseshoe, but as stated in a alternate thread, Russ and his NL Texas Holdem game has found a new home at the Paradiso Casino / Amon Plaza.
https://costaricaticas.com/news.php?id=267 Now that the Horseshoe has reopened not sure if the game went back to the Horseshoe or if it is still at the Paradiso. |

I like those 1/2 games, there a lot of action, but the buy-ins are way off. That should be a $100 min, $200 max buy-in. $40-$500 is way too large a gap. If you are buying in with $40, you might as well just go eat a nice dinner with that $40 and forget cards. ![]() |

He pulls a very high rake also, around 10%. Vegas games usually run around 6%. BKTUNA |

Bk, If I remember correctly, the rake is the same as most casinos in the US(10%, up to $4 max). Even if the pot is over $100, they still only get $4 max. |

About a week ago, a few buddies and I sat in on a game at the Carion but we provided three of the five seats on a Saturday night. We played for a couple of hours and it was a good time. I won $150. It was interesting in that they had two dealers and one would shuffle a deck of cards for the next hand while the one would deal a hand. It definitely kept the game moving. Have a Great Day, Dave |

They have a big poker room at the Fiesta. They have a very wild rebuy tourney on Wednesdays. I have never played in the cash games there. |

I hear those games at the Fiesta have some serious players. I plan on checking out Russ's game this week. Also, does the Colonial still have Friday night tournaments. |
