Since no one has answered this yet I will fill in as much as I know from past experience. By Sky Walk I am guessing you mean any one of the many "Zip Line" attractions that have sprung up in CR recently. There are plenty, including a few close enough to San Jose to make a day trip out of it. The original, nicknamed non-paradoxicaly "The Original Canopy Tour", and several others are in Monteverde, not really a day trip alternative. The roads are so bad it takes several hours to drive there.
I went on Selvatours, also in Monteverde, and had a blast. The best 45 minute amusement park ride in my life. I would say check at a hotel consierge desk in SJ if you really have to make it a day trip. I am sure they will have several to choose from. Personally I would try to make it an overnight at Arenal, hit the zip line and maybe the waterfall during the day, the hot springs in the evening, on your way back to the hotel find a good spot to look for the molten volcanic bolders tumbling down the side of the mountain in the dark. Can't be beat. And if you take a chica along you can make your own heat en la cama despues.
