Almost two months ago, I was told by the front desk people at Intercontinental Hotel in Escazu that a new casino was under construction only 300 meters west of the hotel. I scouted the area and saw that they was some construction activity just west of the multiplaza off ramp from the Autopista and it was almost finished.
Since then, I have talked to a number of people (including dealers who had been interviewed by Thunderbird) that they would open any day now.
Yesterday, I went by the site and while it looked completed, there were signs that a casino would be there soon. I haven't seen any articles or ads in the Tico Times or AM Costa Rica.
So my question is; Does anybody know weather or not Thunderbird (parent company of Fiesta) will be opening a new casinio in Escazu any time soon?
