Are there any decent Golf Course's close to San Jose that are public. Also, besides the Marriott course, what would be the closest place to play near Jaco. Any info or Email address would be appreciated.

The Parque Valley del Sol in Santa Ana is a real nice course just outide of San Jose. Don't know of any other courses near Jaco besides the Marriott.

Whatever you do, just make sure that you play a round with MuffDiver. You'll win enough money from him to pay for your greens fees, golf cart, and all your drinks at the 19th hole! :P

I am starting to plan my next trip with a bud and his wife. It will be his first trip to CR. He is an avid golfer and I am wondering if the 5 courses listed are the only ones in CR. We will most likely be staying in Playa Samara where he has a time share and San Jose. Also, is it worthwhile for him to bring his clubs or should he just rent some?
