This was posted today (3/7) on another Costa Rica Forum, by a gentleman who's handle is costaricatpc: NL TEXAS HOLDEM Tournament - Wednesday, March 8 and Friday, March 10 at 8 PM at the Casino Club Colonial in downtown San Jose, so we are hoping to see you all there. Registration starts at 7PM, tournament starts at 8 PM promptly. We have put a lot of effort and money into organizing our Tournament Club and tourneys so that you, the poker players of Costa Rica will have a nice comfortable place to play poker as well as a great structured tournament, also as a club, we track your participation like an online poker site .......we control our own games, what we offer, etc.....the casino is only hosting our events.......your input will be heard for once instead of falling on deaf ears. THIS IS YOUR CLUB, let's do it like YOU want it! We would like to offer you a special incentive for our Wednesday night tourney, tell all your friends about our club and tourneys and as people register on tournament nights we will ask how they heard about us and will keep track of all those that say, "Bob told me" or "Sam told me". At the start of the tournament, the people that have marks for "friend referrals" will receive 100 EXTRA starting chips PER FRIEND! Sounds exciting eh? Just think how many extra starting chips you could build if you got the word out!!! We are always open to your ideas for types of games you would like to play. Our tournament will be No Limit Texas Holdem as follows: $40 USD buy in $20 Rebuys FOR ONE HOUR $10 ADDON at break Starting chips 1000 Rebuy chips 1000 Addon chips 1500 XTRA CHIPS FOR FRIEND REFERRAL! Blinds start at 10/15 and increase every 20 minutes. Pay out schedule will be posted after break. There will be opportunity for cash games after the tournament. Remember, there is power in organized numbers of people........as players we can only have a voice if we organize .........this is your choice to join up and be part of a strong poker voice in Costa Rica!! WE CAN DO IT, if we all work together! Looking forward to seeing you all there! |

Bktuna, The tournament is tomorrow night March 8 and Friday night (March 10). I am not the one hosting this tournament. I saw this on another CR Forum. I just thought that some of our members (who are currently in CR) might be interested. Here's the link. Mikey...your link doesn't work. It might be interesting to see how much of the entries,the management will hold out for expenses. |

Sorry VB. Apparently, the Admin didn't want the guy promoting his poker tourney on that site, so he pulled the post (after I posted it here). But my 1st post in this thread is a 'cut and paste' of the guy's actual post on that site, regarding the tourney. Maybe we can have weekly tournaments with Topless hostess' at The New Kamur in the basement and the winner buys drimks upstairs!!! Just a little food for thought! |

Sounds good in theory, but it might be a little hard  to concentrate on the cards.
