And to explain my strategy to you Orange, I had written off first and second place. I was going for 3rd place to money. Had I gone 2-0 (instead of the 1-1 that I did) and you went 2-1 or worse on your 3 picks (and you DID GO 2-1) I would have beat you out, just barely. Of course, I had to depend on the others close to us not having stellar weeks as well (i.e. I couldn't have had any of them go 3-0, 4-1, 5-1, e.t.c).
You're right. You could've overtaken me going 2-0. I didn't realize that. You only had 60 picks going into this week, so each of your wins carried a higher percentage. So in the end, it was a good strategy to pick 2 games. But I'm surprised at the games you picked though. I was ready to bet the farm on Pitt against a shitty Browns team. That would've been a no-brainer for me. Steelers had a lot of incentive to play well. They had to win to lock up the 2 seed, or be the 6 seed if they lost and play on the road. I thought NE could be Miami by more than 3 even with their 3rd stringers if they pulled the starters.
I consider myself lucky to even get 3rd place. The competition was pretty fierce. And to add to that, I mismanaged my picks. I didn't leave myself enough picks to go for the gold in the last week. I would have picked 6 if I could, but I already had 78 going in so I could only pick 3. Maybe that was a better thing, since I probably would've picked myself right into 8th place.
