As Jazz suggested, just leaving it on your hard drive won't do any damage. It won't ever start up unless you plug in the MJ into the USB.

But if you wanted to remove it, try this:

-click on Start, then Run
-in the Open window type application data
-look for "mjusbsp" and delete it
-then delete it from the rcycle bin

This should delete it.

Using your procedure you simply get the following.

MagicJack
Uninstaller
(not found)
''

Sorry FMC1 that the standard uninstall process has been rendered impotent by MagicJack for reasons I have no idea why. Above my post, you will find a post that notes there is no "simple" way to uninstall the software and the 3rd party program Brother JazzboCR noted might be something you can use....but I sense you're a bit tepid about putting more on the computer.

Another (sorry...I space out posters names.....) gave you an alternate method to get rid of it.

Is that software mucking up your computer somehow???

http://uninstallmagicjack.com/ is a web site that discusses what amounts to "microsurgery" on your system. You have to get into the Registry (which is the spinal column of a Windows based PC) and disect. It is not for the novice.....(although the 2nd option is very similar to one listed above this post). Sorry. Here is another rather "techie" web site explaining an uninstall procedure.... http://www.ooine.com/index.cfm/2008/3/1 ... Magic-Jack

I love my MagicJack. I've had mine almost a full year, and couldn't be happier. Matter of fact, I just renewed my plan for 5 more years for $59.
Funny if you upgrade to the 5 year when originally ordering they still hit you for the 39.95 so you basically lose a year- paying for 6 but you get 5. :? Better to pay 39.95 then upgrade next year.

Could be, if you have a phone that vibrates.

Recieved my magicjack in 4 days shipped from FL. Setup was fairly simple, I bought the smallest cordless phone w/speakerphone I could find (25.00) and after a few calls it works like a charm. No problemas accessing my home answering machine either. I was going to ask how to buy international minutes but an ad just popped up on my MJ window. Now I can have phone sex con su novias for .06/min.

I'm sure you'll love your new toy! Now you've got to enter all your contacts into your phone / address list. It'll make life easier than trying to remember phone numbers when you're mongering.

And remember that you can make calls by:
- double-clicking on the name in your phone list
- or typing the number from your keypad, then hitting enter
- or just dialing the number from your hand held phone.

And even at .06 per minute to your novias in CR, your phone bills are still going to be ridiculous! :P

My magicjack worked perfectly in CR, I forwarded my cell to my magicjack # upon leaving the states so nobody really knew I was out of town. Also came in handy Monday when some sh*t hit the fan back home and I had to make & recieve several calls to handle some problems. Also like how it emails a wav. file of voice mails, I can listen to my messages by just checking email, cool! Image

Another happy customer! I just installed my Magic Jack on my new Acer Aspire One Netbook. Works like a charm! And I agree about the wav.file for all voicemails. Kinda cool!
