Why the NFL Is so tough to beat.. I rarely complain about Bad beats in any sport, but sometimes it really reminds me why its SO Tough to win wagering on sports particularly the NFL.. Case in point two games this past week IMPOSSIBLE to lose yet Losers.

Balt / Pitt.... Pitt had not gotten inside the 20 yard line all night Baltimore leading 10-6 with 2:31 to go 3rd down pitt one timeout with the ball on their own 30 yard line.. Run the ball, let pitt use their timeout, punt play defense go home with Victory. Simple huh? Of course not Fumble by Balt run back to 9 yard line one play later pitt wins 13-10..... OK suck it up..

Colts -3 last night leading 21-0.... 1st half 3 drives in 4th quarter all FG's still lead 30-21 as Tenn marches down the field and scores a MEANINGLESS touchdown with 00000 time on the clock kicks the extra point by rule and loses by 2 but covers the spread.... I wanted to throw up the lobster bisque i had earlier.

You always remember the loses not the wins, but I can tell you after 40 years of sports betting man those two games were ugly beats.

CRT Handicapper, you can only pick a max of three pro games, you have four. Please remove one of them (except Indy  ). If you do not I will take them in order and remove SD.

Thanks

2 Sundays ago I had a GREAT weekend. Was 5-0 going into the late Ravens game. The last game was Ravens-7 1/2. The game stood 17-3 for the LONGEST time and I told my wingman "You watch. Bucs go in for a soft, late TD and I lose by 1/2,,,,,, Need I say more.

The "number" was NOT in your favor last night after the first half. I smelt it. I watched very little of the first half but when it was 27-14 I thought Colt bettors were in trouble. I "saw" the final score exactly as it ended except my sequence was a bit different. I saw the Titans scoring twice to go ahead 28-27 and Manning taking Indy down the field for a game-winning 30-28 final.

Some 30 years ago I used to bet those skinny white sheets all the time - the ones where 4 for 4 pays you 10 times your bet, etc, etc. As many others I would consistently get 3 out of 4. So, I started betting the games straight up with a local bookie. I won consistently on College but lost almost as consistently on the Pros.

One weekend I bet 12 college games ($25 - $75 each and hit 11 of them. Including hitting 2 tickets for $100 each I won about $850 that day. I had tapered off on betting the Pros since I lost fairly consistently but with the big hit on Saturday I figured what the hell and bet about 5 Pro games on Sunday. Lost about $250 that Sunday.

I was SOOOOOOO much more pissed off about Sunday's loss than I was thrilled about Saturday's big win I said to myself "What the Phuck am I DOING ?!?!?!". That was it. I stopped betting football entirely.

I'll still bet little pools like this CRT one and the box pools for the Super Bowl, etc but no more straight up betting for me. MUCH too aggravating !!!

Football betting, like most chicas, WILL drive you crazy. :( :( :(
