Just got home. Flying standby sucks. flights full and pax being bought off.

The marina is just as you saw it last. no improvement. no construction started. Nada.

Don't remember the names of the chicas. only 1 was doable. 1 if you're real drunk. The last one was a beast. She claimed to have lived in SFla for 10 yrs. Real Good English and promised not to bite. None of us was brave enough. LoL

The place was dead thursday, bunch of Ticos shooting pool on friday night. Had a huge laugh when a Gringa tried to pickup a Tico and he shot her down. Even the Locals don't want to fcuk with a Gringa....

Some of the boats must have moved south. Only saw the Wetass (of those you mentioned) in the bay. Most of the others looked private. Saw only 1 other boat out fishing where we were either day. Oh, the dive boat was very busy. Full both days on the morning and night dives.

Planning the next trip right now. Jan06 Quepos.

I know it's not that popular on this board but, I love to fish.

Puz is the reason. Fishing is the passion.

You got me laughing my ass off with that Gringa remark. That's funny as hell. Go figure....even the tico's don't want to ph*ck a gringa!

I'm surprised that a lot of boats have moved South already. I know many of them run down to Samara, Carillo and/or Quepos for the billfish, but I thought they didn't start going down there until around early - mid October. But there must be a reason. Most of those captains really know their sh*t.

BTW (I'm sure noone else cares, but I do) how the hell did you do fishing?

...And one more thing....

For me, it's just the opposite. P*ssy is the passion, but fishing is the reason !!! Doesn't everybody go to CR to fish?!?!?!?

My reason for going to Guanacaste is to look into buying /developing a few condos.

I have a real estate agent lined up to show me a few ocean front properties in the area.

I am intrigued by the Flamingo Beach area and smell a potential opportunity caused by the closure of the marina.

Questions: Is the marina that was shut down the only marina in the area? Who would I call to check status on a new marina development? Other than the marina, are there other quality amenities? Golf course? Nice beach?

Your thoughts and advice is much appreciated. Beauregard.

Probably a list of reasons for the marina shutdown. (it really was just a couple of docks out into a protected area of the bay. Polution is listed many times. Politics/$$ runs a close second.

As I hadn't been to flamingo in 2 years, I was shocked at the amount of Signs in english along the roads from the airport to the Bay. Even though there are a # of Condo already up, there's plenty of room.

Driving factors: Tamrindo airport is small (tin roof open air building for terminal), no good road to the area and none planned that I know of. The Four Seasons up the road soaked a lot of investment interest in that direction.

Beach is OK. not great. Black sand but, brother is it beautiful. Damn near perfect.

Never count on any infrastructure improvements until you can see them or ride over them. The "4 lane" superhighway from SJO to Jaco beach has been 8 yrs in the coming (as far as I know) and it ain't even started in the difficult mountain areas.

Quepos is slated for a new marina. supposed to start this Nov. Believe it when I see it. I'm sure the construction will be done by my Jan06 trip. LoL

Proceed. Proceed with caution and patience.

Yup, the Gringa was one of a pair and very pretty. She kept staring at this dude. He was having none of it. Played pool and just kept smiling.
