Mente...I thought the qualifying games were being played in Alajuela,
because FIFA had some problem with the turf in San Jose (Saprissa).
I know this past summer they had to move the game against Cuba to
Alajuela. Am I wrong?

absolute magic in town last nite,5-0 and the atmosphere outside the presidente all afternoon was electric, across the way hotel guatamela(BALMORAL) was a mass of flag's drum's and noise-maker's,with good-natured banter back and forth between local's and visitor's from guatemala, after the game car's all draped with flag's and banner's beeped horn's thru the night.........wanchorpe is king.........

Gringotim,

Yes at a certain point the turf at the Saprissa was a problem. FIFA demands that if a turf is installed, about 3 to 5 months have to go by in order to schedule any games. Once the 3 months were due FIFA send their personnel to check on it to and they aprove it for any type of games...

OHHH by the way...

The action is not over yet.... this coming wednesday COSTA RICA against CANADA...

CR is playing the most important game, since we need to WIN this game to almost make to the 2nd round.

Hopefully we will WIN and if we do, expect more magic and cars draped with flag's and banner's beeping horn's thru the night...... and YES Wanchorpe is king.........

just tuned into this thread...

my friend and I went to the CR/Guatemala game. that was one of the most unbelievable costa rica experiences I've ever had! we were sitting under a small group of guatemaltecas that, for some reason, weren't sitting in their own section. caused a lot of problems as twice during the game ticos around us starting throwing stuff at them.

after the game, it was impossible to catch a taxi!! two guys simply refused to take us back to san jose. unbelievable experience. I highly recommend that you guys experience this. I'm hooked!!

if you like wanchope, check out his website

gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool !!!!!!!!!!

Osgood.

I only caught the 2nd half...when it was Canada 1 CR 0.

Then CR ties it.

Then this guy with the dreads ..sorry I do not remember the name, fakes out canadas goaltender big time one on one and scores.

Then canada takes a cheap shot at one of CR players and we get the free kick and bingo the drop shot over the goaltenders head works!

CR 3 Canada 1
