Is there a decent gym walking distance from the Presidente? How long would it take to walk to the Golds at the Radison? I know the Prez has a exercise room, but I'm looking for a real gym with free weights, etc. Thanks for any info.

Golds gym about 20 to 30 min. Grupa multi-spa 20 min. Grupa is on the map.and cheaper but older than golds.If your a mem. of Golds you can work out free with a travel pass. Both have enough free wgts. to get the job done.

there is a gym across the street from the Hotel Nuevo Johnson.
exit the Presidente, turn left and walk to the end of the pedestrian walkway, go one more block and turn left on Calle 8, gym is on right hand side of street.
you go up a set of stairs to the third floor, it has plenty of weights and some machines.
Last trip I paid about $3 membership fee and about $7 a week for unlimited visits.

It is a Tico gym but clean and friendly with lockers and shower areas.
