just wanted to get everyone's predictions for this years baseball season. i think it is going to be a great one. it all gets kicked off tomorrow nite at 8 on ESPN with the yankees-sox rematch. heres my predictions:

NL East: Florida Marlins
NL Central: Houston Astros
NL West: San Diego Padres
NL Wild Card: Atlanta Braves

AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Chicago White Sox
AL West: Los Angeles Angels( formerly Anaheim)
AL Wild Card: NY Yankees

World Series: Florida Marlins vs. Boston Red Sox
World Champs: Boston Red Sox

There u have it i am predicting a repeat for the Boston Red Sox over the Florida Marlins in 6 games. write it down, bet the farm on it. The Sox are even going to win the division this year! I also think that the Yankees may get left out of the playoffs this year, if their pitching doesnt produce as expected, and we could see those Minnesota Twins back in the playoffs. But anyway, go Phillies!!!!

first off lowe was great in playoffs but so-so in regular season. matt clement should have a huge year, they got david wells from from san diego, clement from the cubs, wade miller from houston. plus theyadded edgar renteria at shortstop and resigned jason varitek. by far they are the best "team" in baseball. the yankees have great "players" yes , but the sox have team chemistry which is needed to win championships.

they lost beltre, shawn green and half their pitching...there only shot is the division as a whole got weeker, and if they can get a lead into the 7th 8th inning, gagne will rap it up....he;s lights out, but he's hurtin right now...

no one voted for boston but no one posted their picks whats up

NL CENTRAL HOUSTON ASTROS....what are you smoking....can I have some....lol...

Cubbies are going to break the curse this year.....now that the cancer is gone from the clubhouse aka Sammy Sosa

Houston has lost Kent and Hidalgo.... Bagwell is not the same as he was with that shoulder problem...Berkman is out for at least another month....2 rookies starting in the outfield (Tavares and Scott) and another who has not had a regular job in the major until now (Lane).....
Had to move Biggio back to 2nd (a 40 year old infielder, that could be trouble)

How are the Whitesox going to compete with the Twins......all they lost were Magglio Ordonex and Carlos Lee.....
They may finish 4th behind the Twins, Tigers and Indians......
Ok maybe 3rd.....

CG.....Go Cubbie Blue

ok well theastros may be a shock to you, but their rotation is nice with clemens, pettitte, and oswalt...and lidge is the best young closer in the game....the cubs may steal it if prior and wood would ever stay healthy..

and about the white sox.....they are loaded with power first off...they got konerko, jermaine dye, frank thomas, carl everett, aaron rowand, juan uribe.....they got podsednik who stole 70 some bases last year.....they improved their rotation a lot....it's now buerle, freddy garcia, jose contreras, el dukay, and garland.....

I agree the Astros have a nice rotation, but in that band box they will still get hit...Who is # 4 and 5.....CUBS steal it..........I think they are a much better team up and down.....which lineup would you rather have..

Corey Patterson
Todd Walker/ Jerry Hairston, Jr
Nomar Garciaparra
Aramis Ramirez
Jeremy Burnitz
Derek Lee
Todd Hollandsworth/Jerry Hairston, Jr.
Michael Barrett

VS.

Willy Tavares (Rookie)/Jason Lane
Adam Everett
Craig Biggio
Jeff Bagwell
Morgan Ensberg
Jason Lane/Lance Berkman
Luke Scott (Rookie)/Jason Lane
Brad Ausmus

If Wood and Prior can stay healthy our 3,4,5 are pretty solid with Zambrano, Maddux and either Rusch, Dempster or the K*ds they can call up...Guzman, etc.....bullpen is the big ????

As far as the Sox go....Contreras and El Sucko...you must be kidding........
Dye is a decent player but no Maggs.....Posednik can make things happen with his speed....but Carlos Lee was a pretty solid player also.....But the Big Skirt....He is about done...Konerko had a career year, lets see him do that again......
The one thing I can say for the Sox is they probably have the best bullpen is baseball...Takatsu, Hermanson, Vizcaino, Marte and Politte are gong to be very good.....

Can you tell I am a lifelong cub fan..although I do not root against the Sox, unless they play the Cubs...

McPhail has proven over the last couple of years that he is willing to spend at the trade deadline to improve..Aramis Ramirez and Randall Simon in '03...Nomar, Neifi Perez in '04..not to mention top line free agent signings and trades for Derek Lee, Greg Maddux, Michael Barrett, etc...Reinsdorf has not stepped up to the plate anything close to that.

Quite franjly the reason he has not (Can't blame him) average attendance in Sox Park (Horrible Neighborhood is around 20,000 to 40,000 average in Wrigley....

im not very impressed with the cubs linup.....id rather have:

Jimmy Rollins
Kenny Lofton
Bobby Abreu
Jim Thome
Pat Burrell
Chase Utley
Mike Lieberthal
David Bell

don't rule out the fightin phils....they have one of the best bullpens in baseball....wagner, worrell, cormier, madson

a decent rotation....lieber, wolf, padilla, lidle, myers....but waitin for rookie phenom gavin floyd to take over a spot

however they are in one of if not the toughest divisions in baseball this year with the marlins braves and mets all making big additions this offseason

it looks like my pics for the playoffs may not have been way off after all........with the exception of the florida marlins......looks like i may have picked 7 out of the 8 teams......hopefully the phillies can still pass houston and win the wildcard though.....go phils
