Following the main event in my room with a couple of Sportsmen's finest my last trip, the girls wanted to stay and party. They both love to dance, and they kept asking if I had something I thought I heard them call the "reggae" CD. I didn't know what they were talking about, so one of them went out and brought something back that sounded basically like Spanish language hip-hop.

Just noticed a mention of the "reggaeton" style in a recent post by Tanager, and now I think I've solved the mystery. With another trip right around the corner, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations about specific music in this style so I'll be better prepared for the in-room danceathons this time.

Thanks,
GR

OK,

Some of the more popular artists and songs, which I have downloaded from Bearshare, so most download sites should have easy access to them.

Tego Calderon- Punto y aparte, Para Que Retozen, Guasa Guasa,

Julio Voltio- Julito Marana, Azotale el Bompel

Daddy Yankee- Gasolina, No Me Dejes Solo, Lo Que Paso

Don Omar- Pobre Diabla, Dile, Dale Don Dale

Kris y Angel- Ven Bailalo

Big Boy- Mis Ojos Lloran Por Ti

There's a few more, but I gotta look up the proper song titles.

Hope this helps!

Okay Reggaeton expert - how about burning us a CD (if you haven't already). Believe me, it will come in handy in a few days... DO IT!

A measely 71 hours before I pull into Sportsmen's...yahoo!! (I'll try not to leave the Suite in too big a mess before you get there...)

Two reasons why...

1. In my seperation, I lost the computer with 'cd burning skills.'

2. I currently have two laptops, and neither can do it.

Sorry, but if I were you, GR, I would be focusing more on the videocamera instead...

I don't think this is the style you are looking for, but my second night in CR I went a round with a Tica from the BM. She put on the music video channel on TV and was dancing to Shakira ("La Tortura") on top of the bed with me underneath. It's a good song to dance to, and dance she did. I still get goosebumps when I hear that song on the radio. Is it me or can Latinas shake their asses in a very inviting way?

Latinas simply have no peers when it comes to shaking their booty. It's simply in their blood and in their culture.

Makes it kind of tough on us white guys trying to keep up with them, huh?

Orange, Shakira's "La Tortura" can very easily be considered Reggeaton... though her singing style is very different from today's standard regeatton performer, the beats used in the song are identical to what is considered reggeaton. As a matter of fact, it's an easy song to mix at a club with other reggeaton songs, and is done so quite often these days.

Some more great Reggaeton songs to download:

N*na Sky- Oye Mi Canto (Boricua Morena)

Zion y Lennox- Baila Conmigo

Yandel- Tu Cuerpo A Mi Me Provoca

Vico C- Bomba Para Fincar

Ivy Queen- Pa La Cama Voy

Shakira- Le Tortura

Paulina Rubio- Yo Sigo Aqui (Esperandote)

Dont know Artist- Esta Noche Hay Pelea

Enjoy, and if someone DOES burn a cd with all the songs I recommended, please pm me for my address if you are gracious enough to be able to burn me a copy... i have no way of burning cd's anymore and I donated my only copy of all these songs to Zona Blue.

GR and Fuzzyballs
Get an Ipod mini and a portable speaker/docking station. I don't travel without mine.
You can download off of bearshare or limewire and listen on the plane with a GOOD set of headphones. Drowns those screaming Babi*s right out. :D Then set it up in your room for the party, I'll show you mine when I see you guys this weekend...No not that you pervs

I'll try and download some of that stuff. I also have some really cool latin techno that the girls love to dance to. Ahhhh memories of Panama

I have two Reggaeton CDs that a Dominican girl mixed for me that the girls here seem to love. This girl works in boston as a DJ and told me that most of the song are about sex or close to it and perfect for getting a girl in the mood.

She gave me the song names but they are back home. When I return can give you the names. OR if anyone has a computer in town and a burner I could let you burn some copies. I will be in town until sunday.

I gave one member the CD and he said he had a group of girls at his house and by the time the second song was over most of them had there tops off.
