That page as a clickable: http://www.queposfishadventure.com/
He gets rave reviews on TripAdvisor and the one long complaining post is satisfactorily answered: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_R ... renas.html

As a side note: Didn't we used to have a Captain or two as a Sponsor? With the new/renewed interest here in the Jaco and southern area, that would seem to be a natural.

He enjoys a good rep, as does Luna Tours. Great fishing out of Quepos for sure. Bigger fleet and cheaper then the nearest north. But, from the Quepos dock, it's a long, long way out to get to the "blue water" for the sails and marlin, and a longer ride back.

So, make sure you get the kind of boat you want--with a canopy if you need some shade, or bringing a gal? Get one with the "full head".

In shore fishing (no big ones), which is a half day, alot cheaper, obviously not nearly by 50 as long of a ride out so you'll be fishing quickly and almost as much as a full day deep. My favorite there 'cause you'll catch fish you can take back to the hotel or restaurant and cook for free, or give to your local friends. But, make sure to agree that they have live bait when you board. I am not directing that comment at either of the Captains mentioned at all, but it happens enough there where reg's know to make sure that's the deal. Or else, you'll be fishing for bait for an hour.

And tip the capt and crew appropriately, in-shore or deep, a big complaint I hear about from the captains at the end of the day at the bar at El Gran Escape, kind of their hang out.

My buddies and I used Captain Jesus and the 37' Estrella del Mar four years ago with very good results: http://fishingadventurescr.com/our-boats

Just curious what they consider fair tips for the day. I tell them what kind of fish we want to catch and I let their effort dictate what I tip. I did almost throw one deckhand overboard. He kept throwing trash overboard and I repeatedly told him not to thow his trash in the ocean. I finally talked to the captain and let him know his deckhand would be swimming soon if the shit did not stop.
