SONESTA HOTEL CASINO will open with a revolutionary proposal of social and environmental responsibility

Hotel style incorporates concept "Las Vegas"

Hiring people at risk and zero pollution are part of the Social Responsibility and Environmental ESCAZÚ Sonesta Hotel & Casino, which hopes to open its doors to tourists and visitors from next March 2013.

SONESTA seeks to integrate its business plan with local social development, for example, "is expected to hire people with disabilities, and single mothers," to support those most in need, which will result in a greater sense of personal gratification to the company, explained Renaud Dugert, EXT CFO of development.

Furthermore, this environmentally friendly hotel uses solar energy to heat water; gives priority to electric or hybrid cars, and also uses rainfall and discharges of treated wastewater for irrigation of the green.

All SONESTA environmental measures, coupled with the use of energy saving lamps, aim to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design), a U.S. accreditation to the Green Building Counsil (Green Building Council ) that focuses on reducing the environmental footprint.

This was explained ESTRUCONSULT engineer, Orlando Gei, by the architectural design, electrical and mechanical of the new hotel.

"Las Vegas" in Escazú

SONESTA not just a hotel, but a center of fun and entertainment, local visitors and tourists can use as a meeting point.

The goal is that people have ample opportunities for entertainment under one roof, as "shows", bars, restaurants, "outlets" and games.

People can start the day and end the night in the same place, said Johnathan Raineau, President of EXT development.

One restaurant will be located on the roof, "8 or Rooftop", which will offer the concept of food-from farm to table, which chains to small businesses that offer organic products.

It's well on it's way to completion and is quite obvious just off the road to Jaco...gonna be a huge place. Hear it should open in March of next year so only 6 months away. Will have 171 rooms, 1000sq meters of meeting rooms 1500sq meters of display spaces, 3 bars, 2 restaurants one of which will be a rooftop dining area not to mention the rooftop pool and what they are describing as a "Las Vegas" style casino. They are also putting in a some 'green' technology like solar panel water heaters, energy efficient lighting and reuse of waste-water in garden/lawn areas. Quite a project and should be worth seeing when it's open. They are also going to try to hire disabled and single mothers (part of a social program). Wonder what the 'guest' policy is going to be like.
