Do the K*ds beg for money in CR like other CA countries? I'm just wondering what to expect.

Also, I've been doing some math. Someone on this board published average CR salaries - I think the average was something like 11 dollars a day.

If I'm to think real hard about this... 22 working days a month so for the sake of argument say the average CR person is making 300 a month.

How could rent be much more than 150 a month or 200 in most places? Maybe lots of people are living in one house/apartment and many of the adults in the house are working?

Unrelated to begging and cost of living: Is the cable connection to the internet in CR dependable? Is it reliable and up most of the time?

What is Amnet? Is that DSL or dial up?

If not DSL, does it compare to DSL speed?

My employer (a big bank) will let me telecommute from anywhere as long as the internet connection is dependable. I can move to CR or take long trips there while at the same time working.

Many people rent as families-most of living conditions definately not up to Norte Americano standards. Fast internet definately not the norm, but according to oficial 100k new fast hookups coming this month
Believe it when I see it

I don't know of any Ticos that have their own appartment or house. Most of the Ticas live with family and the foreigners, Nicas, Colombianas, etc., share an appartment between a few of them.

The payrates listed were minimum rates. As in the US not many work at the minimum rate level. I believe ion the US the Federal rate is someing like $5.75. That is the number to compare.
