For those of you in town during Semana Santa and like to play a $1-2 poker game,The DR poker room has signs up stating that they will be open all thru the week at 2pm till 5am.

but no alcohol, right? Maybe just on Thurs. and Fri. Can one shop at the duty free at airport on Fri. after arrival or is that closed also. MES

There's no alcohol sold/served anywhere in CR on Thur and Fri, so it's safe to assume that includes the airport.

Airport duty free is definitely not selling alcoholic beverages on Thursday or Friday. This was confirmed in a thread last year when the same question came up.
