I have never seen anything quite like this...

The entire city is a buzz...

Every single staff member of the prez is in the Color of the Ticos or is wearing a Tico Soccer Jersey.

Ever Taxi has a CR flag and is painted with predictions of the tonights score.

Every street corner all throughout SJO has vendors selling soccer Jerseys and flags.

Every person on the street is in Soccer Colors.

The traffic is insane everyone is already partying.

I had no idea of the passion these folks have for their Soccer and their Ticos. This should be an interesting expierience to say the least. I am very much looking forward to tonights game!

I have been told if they defeat the Mighty Mexicans that this city will GO WILD!!!!!!

I've been to some incredible SPorting events in my life but never expierienced the passion I am seeing today.

Mente and Osgood...what happened to CR? I checked on Livescore and
Soccernet (ESPN), and see that Mexico won 2-1. Mexico scored in the
8th and 9th minutes, then Wanchope scored for CR in the 38th minute.
Doesn't CR have any forwards/strikers who can score besides Wanchope?
Does CR play in Mexico next? What date is that game?

The U.S. won (with their 'regular' players thankfully, as the strike was finally settled) 2-1 at Trinidad/Tobago.

Ticos got stomped darn it. After that second goal by Mexico in the first ten minutes of the game my Tica is like "OMG". It was looking very grim for awhile there. I gotta say that woke the Ticos up and they tried but they just didn't have it together. That Wanchope is great but wasn't getting set up good.

The Mexicans are a Bad Ass soccer team. I think Ticos did ok, considering.

I have never seen such a subdued San Jose as last night after the game.

Having re-read the other thread, I see that CR next plays Panama at home on March 25/26. That should be wild, playing their neighbors to the south. I also noted that they play the US at home on October 8/9.
Question...who will all the Gringos root for at that game? I'm not sure I'd want to be at the game and be too overly enthusiastic towards the US, although there most likely would not be any problems. As the US will probably win, as I believe they have the better squad/talent, the BM/KL could be interesting that night. Maybe the Ticas will be pissed and show their animosity by raising their rates

Maybe the Tico's will pull an upset and the Ticas will give us Gringo's a freebie as a consolation prize.
