Van was right on time, nice ride to Britt;s in Heredia, van driver gave a running account of Little known Costa Rican Facts. was very interesting.
The coffee tour was very interesting and also entertaining, the last thing we did was get an up close and personal instruction in the art of making coffee, how to make cappacino and espresso without an expensive machine.

All and all it was a nice day spent away from the hustle and bustle of downtown San Jose, I reccommend the coffee lovers tour to anyone.

BTW coffee is cheap there, and since I needed to take some home, ordered a case, 20 bags to be shipped to my home for $100 total, split it with my wingman, that should hold us over until the next trip.

Was that 20 bags of Cafe Britt shipped for 100? If so that's not a bad deal, it's 149.00 on their website.

I think that is correct. I was at Tabacon a couple of years ago, and remember placing an order there. Someone came by with a Britt order form, and if I remember right you could chose any 20 of thier products, coffee, candy, etc. for a $100. It was a good deal.

I must agree that the Cafe Britt tour, which includes lunch is one of the most enjoyable mornings I have had in Costa Rica when not in the company of a chica.
And you can tack on a Butterfly farm tour afterwards which is an experience.
Bring an umbrella.

Yes the $100 for a case of 20 bags is shipped. thats a savings of $50 on the case, making it about $5 a bag.

I've heard alot of good things about the Britt tour. I hear it has one of the best buffets around. anyone know how much the tour is and the length?

I went on the BRITT COFFEE TOUR as well....arranged by the Hotel Don Carlos. It is very worthwhile and enjoyable.

Several days before departing Costa Rica for the U.S......I stop at the Mas O Menos for coffee to take home. I always puchase the LEYENDA brand in the plain brown bag. It seems to be the BRITT coffee of choice for the locals. On the side of the bag, it says it is BRITT coffee. It costs much less than the BRITT coffee which is packaged in the brightly colored red or green bags, which I assume, is done to attract the attention of the tourists. I cannot tell any difference in taste. I always purchase enough to last me until I return to Costa Rica.

If you take the coffee lovers tour it is $52 with transportation. The Cappacino (sp) tour is a tad cheaper, but also shorter. The Coffee lovers tour lasted between 2 and 3 hours, not incuding the short ride to and from.
