I will be in Jaco Friday and Saturday nights, Nov 3 & 4. I have read of The Backyard Bar Ladies night on Friday nights. Anybody have any idea if it's ongoing, if it's mostly a younger, non-pro crowd, or if a young at heart 50 something gringo would fit in?

I'm not one for making lots of plans but my idea for the two nights out of San Jose is just to get away from the hustle bustle for a bit, have some fun drinking and dancing, and see what comes to pass - if not there, then probably Monkey Bar, Nacho Daddy's and/or Pancho Villas.

Unless the ladies night changes with the season .. It would be Wednesday night at Backyard. Back in the summer , on a Wed. night a bunch of people came piling into Monkey Bar late. About 30 minutes after the BB crowd got there. I was told they had all come from Backyard and that it was ladies night there. Maybe someone can confirm this or shoot it down.

I don't know for sure, but it is pretty quiet at the hotel at night. I wouldn't think they charge a chica fee. As for the bar, there may be some working girls but the large majority are not.
