I'd like to hear what you guys think are the best places to stay in Quepos. Assuming the Costa Verde is not available.

I have been meaning to post on this subject. Drove to Quepos in early December without a reservation. Between Quepos and Costa Verde there is a ( New in 2004) Small Hotel called the Babaloo Inn. I was able to get their top floor suite with a beautiful Ocean View for about $80 dollars per night. A smaller room with a jungle view was about $38. They were quite willing to waive the taxes if I paid cash. My suite had a kitchen with stove/refrigerator/microwave and enough dishes and pots and pans to make breakfast or a light meal. They do stock your room with a few snacks, sodas and beers, which you can either pay for or replace. The shower was very large(room for 2 ) with plenty of hot water. The bed was an ultra king size and the most comfortable, I have ever slept or screwed in. There is a small swimming pool. The owners are Gringos. You can reach them at (506) 777-3461 or at www.babalooinn.com. I am not sure if their web site has photos or not. I know I will return.

The prices quoted on their website are 2 and 3 times what you paid.

I've stayed at the Si Como No three or four times, and it's one of the more expensive hotels in the area. The rooms start at around $160 per night. It's not as expensive as the Parador, but pretty close. If money is no object, I'd highly recommend both places.

About Babaloo Inn. I have never looked at their website. I gave it off their business card. I stayed there in the first week of December. It was very quite in the area. I just drove in and told them I wanted a good deal on a room.
