They have done a great job providing the customer with a wonderful environment. By and large they do everything right. SL is a very nice vision becoming reality. It's amazing how many reviews SL gets where people totally forget they paid alot of money to stay there.. you'd think they were giving the experience away.. It shows how happy people are to part with their money for what is being offered.

Built in 1906? I use to own a home built in 1917 that didn't come near to the SL in quality. I wonder what the history behind the SL mansion is. Who were its owners during the early 20th century? Are there any skeletons in the mansion's closets? I would be interested in the history of the mansion.

There are rumors that the place may be inhabited by spirits of the past. Granted there have been no confirmed sightings, that can be attributed to any one who was not inebriated, there is other evidence.

There have been numerous reliable reports that when the noise of the bar patrons has come to a close there have been moans, gasps and heavy breathing heard emitting from the rooms.

The spirit might be named Rico as his named being shouted over and over has also been reliably reported.

He got the gringo part right... I don't know if sports fans is accurate. Well, some of us are, I guess.

A second spirit named "Papi" may also hang around the lodge.

It'll just make it harder to get a reservation the more popular it becomes.

I tried to get an associate here in Jaco to take a look at what the Sportsmen's Lodge has done. I don't think his wife would go for that format, but I've never seen a new owner do these kind of numbers in a hotel. There was like a 4-5 month stretch where they didn't have one empty room. Because they understand customer service. Like anywhere, there will be problems from time to time, but I have never had anything less than good service there.
