Hankkh, Two years ago my son and I were in Tamarindo and we stayed at the Hotel Tamarindo Diria. This is an excellent, well run beach resort with an excellent staff of people. It is located on the beach, and also has a grassy, shaded area with lounge chairs. Several bars, one alongside the swimming pool where you can actually swim up to and get your drink. They serve an excellent breakfast buffet every morning with all the American favorites available. The rooms are all modern and up to date. Some of the rooms face the beach, with a rear door access to the beach. As for being chica friendly, I don't know, as I never had the opportunity in Tamarindo. However, the rooms are laid out in such a way that it would seem very easy to bring a chica to the room with little interference from staff. As for price, for what we received, I considered it a very reasonable value for what we paid. After departing from Tamarindo, my son realized he had left an expensive pair of shoes under the bed. I told him "he would never see them again." When we returned to San Jose, we were surprised to learn that the Diria has an office in San Jose. We went to the office and told the clerk about the shoes. She contacted the hotel and learned that indeed, the maid did find the shoes and turned them in and that they would mail them to my son's address in the U.S. [ya, right]. Amazingly, two weeks after returning home, the shoes were delivered to him. I highly recommend this hotel. www.tamarindodiria.com Zebra |

The biggest competitor to Diria would be the Hotel Barcelo Playa Langosta, and let me tell you, the place sucks... the staff and service was sub-par, the beaches were full of what seemes like large lavarocks, which made it impossible to bathe in comfortably, and the place just wasn't fun... If you go to Tambor, however, the Barcelo Hotel there is one of the best all-inclusive resorts I have EVER been to, and I've been to a few, so it's not the Barcelo name that one should avoid, just the one in Tamarindo. Diria and Capitain Suizo are nice hotels on the beach but they are pretty darn quiet. If you want something a little more lively try Pasatiempo or Vista Villas. If you want something a bit nicer and more private try a rental condo (www.tamarindobeachrentals.com). |

Don't think the Diria is chica friendly. Each guest must have the bracelet thing they give out and you're not allowed on property without. |

Heya Ruffnutz save that bathing for your bathtub. You should try surfing over that shit! Those langosta's have to have a few rocks to hide under ) Surfdog |
