Just a word of caution about the Sudamer reservation policy.

I had a friend who stayed at the Sudamer in July of 2006. He booked a reservation for January 2007. He had to postpone his trip for a week and asked me to call the Sudamer and advise them of the change. When I spoke to Carlos the owner he could only confirm 7 of the 12 days. When I pointed out to him that the 5 days he said he was full were 5 days that were included in my friends original reservation which until this phone call Carlos thought my friend was using. His reply was....

"We do not guarantee reservations in the high season"

Be very leery of the Sudamer.

That explains a lot.

When I booked my room for two weeks in Oct/Nov they never asked for a deposit or credit card, or anything like that. I went so far as to ask him if I need to do anything else to confirm my reservation, he said no. I made sure to email him twice the week before I left, to make sure I still had a room. When I got there, no problems whatsoever. Of course, the high season would have probably been more problematic. I must admit, those guys were the most laid back hotel/apartment owners I've ever met. Still, I will return there for any long trips.

Aranjuez is NOT chica-friendly. They even have a cheesy sign in the reception area. To paraphrase, it says "In keeping with the Costa Rican Tourism Hotel Occupancy law xxx, under which we operate, and for the security of all our guests, non-registered guests are not allowed inside the rooms."

In other words, PUTAS NOT ALLOWED! Keep in mind there are Tico families (with little K*ds) that stay in the apartments.

that is the most ridiculous policy at these hotels. it is like putting up a sign at an american hotel that said "no black, no irish, no jews!" they are banning something completely legal.

It's Costa Rica. You are forgetting something very important. The country does not operate under the same civil rights laws that we do in the USA.

I agree. That's how Hotel Gran Costa Rica can effectively ban working girls from their premises. Aranjuez is a family place, so I can understand it.

In my opinion, they do us a favor when they make their policy clear. If I am patronizing an establishment (giving them my money) I want to feel 100% welcome with my company. I don't want to have to try to keep my chica quiet at 2:00am for fear of waking the neighbors yungun' and I don't want their spawn waking me at 7:00am playing in the hallway.

If they don't like my type they certainly don't like my money. 8)

DDReam, I was just about to post a thank you for some great information in an attempt to reach out to you for the new year and bridge our differences of opinions.

Then, I read the posts above from others with like experiences and determine that you are a very dangerous poster.

Anyone taking your advice is putting them selves at risk. You are a dangerous poster because your posts are fictional fabrication lacking validity and / or you are just plain stupid.

Please begin adding a foot note disclaimer to all your future posts, and perhaps go back in time too, that states your head is so far up your culo you have no idea what the phuck you are saying. Advise readers that you are a very dangerous advisor, and any information provided by Double D Reamer should be ignored as frivolous, questionable, and very suspect.

Happy New Year.

HAHA, you crazy guy. I don't give anyone advice. I speak only facts and speak of my own personal experience. I know that these places are doing the same thing that thousands of businesses in our own country did to the citizens who helped to build america and I THINK it is best to let the other board members know when a place is not respectful of our kind.

Now, I don't know what I did to piss you off think time, nor do I particularly care. with that in mind I will give you one little piece of advice, and that is to do what I do with you. ignore every post made by me.

Have a nice day.
