Does anyone have any experience flying on COPA Airlines. Are they fairly reliable and safe.

I just purchased a multiple destination flight ticket from LAX to PTY with a three day layover, then on to SJO for four days and back to LAX in February. Expedia priicng was $ 788 for this and thru the COPA website it was only $ 513.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

sounds reasonable to me....

multiple destinations and at the high season....it'd be nice to get it cheaper, but the $500+ qoute seems fair enough

you only live once, enjoy the trip and post a report

COPA is a Panamanian based airline that is 49% owned by Continental (helps explain the similar tail logo). They fly Boeing 737's.

I have not heard any "horror" stories concerning their operations so I do not think you have much to worry about.

I typically fly Copa exclusively, and you will be surprised by:

1) Their Modern Fleet
2) Their unbelieveable service
3) Cute Panamanian Flight Attendants

This airline blows US Carriers away!

I agree with Papichullo.

Who else has an open bar and serves 2 meals on a SJO-PTY-CLO intinerary?

These flights are only 1 hr and 1hr 15 minutes.

Delta gives you a "snack" on a 4hr ATL to Las Vegas flight.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like it will be a good way to start the trip. I have to agree with the comment regarding american carriers, I've flown LACSA before from LAX and it was much better than American or United.

I'm still amazed at the price I got considering that a RT ticket just to and from LAX to SJO with no layover's in Panama is close to $ 500 on every other airline fo the second week in February.

Thanks again
