I am visiting San Jose in March and I'm planning to stay at the Hotel Del Rey. Is this hotel safe and secure enough or are there better choices? |

you're staying at the heart of the beast.....but it is safe....use the room safes when entertaining chicas in your room.... read all the Newbie tips the Presidente is another option..... |

The Hotel Del Rey can be a very dangerous place for a first timer. There is a bar (Blue Marlin) at the lobby level that is actually swarming with girls who are liable to grab your crotch, whisper in your ear what kind of sexual acts they are going to perform on you and other lewd and lascivious things. There are tales of gringos who even fell in luv at that infamous hotel and bar. Be very careful young man you never know what illicit pleasure you will find there that will warp your mind and addict you to CR forever. The withdrawal syndrome can be very difficult. To be more serious the Del Rey is a great choice for your first trip. Very safe and guaranteed fun. |

The safest place to stay in Costa Rica is snugly wrapped between the thighs of a nubile latina.At that point who cares what hotel you are in ? Seriously- HDR is very safe and you dont have far to go with the chicas. |

The Del Rey would likely be the safest place if you never want to go outside.. But man, mix it up a little.. The Presidente is just fine and so is the Sportsmen's Lodge. You'll make friends at both and can take a cab anywhere you want, including right to the doorstep of the Del Rey. |

Yes Ding Dong is right. And you will be in the heart of it. As far as saftey goes, The DR is where every gringo in Costa Rica goes. You can not find a safer place and be a gringo. I even think the owners are North Americains. The reason all the guys go there is just like every where else on the face of this earth. The booty is there. You being 60 though, And knowing you can buy Viagra over the counter in CR. Maybe you should take a fibulator with you and only look for nursing students. I say that out of concern for a brother. And there are nursing students there too. Natasha a bartender there had some nursing training in Russia. |
