Hello everyone love the sight. A friend and I are planning our first trip to Costa Rica. We would like to do some surfing on the west coast and also have some tica's. Is there a town on the west coast where we can surf, that has a night life where we can find some lady's. Also if anyone knows bar's to find tica's and tica friendly hotels. Thankyou for any info you might have. |

Hermosa Beach. Stay at the backyard or Terrazo del Pacifico. They hold the quicksilver airshow there every year. rovercam.com Surfdog |

I stayed at the Terrazo Del Pacifico and would definitely recommend it for surfers. For mongering it is a 10 minute cab drive out of town, so not quite as desirable for most of us unless you bring your own entertainment. My only warning is stay away from shrimp cocktail there. I got a bad batch and haven't been able to eat shrimp ever since without getting violently sick. |

Sounds more likely you have developed an allergy to some shellfish. It is unlikely that a one time exposure to a bad batch of shrimp would trigger an ongoing problem. I have the same problem with mussels. I ate them for years with no problems and then they suddenly made me violently sick. I was diagnosed as allergic to iodine but interestingly enough not all shellfish cause the reaction just mussels and medically injected iodine. |
