I have contacted the Del Rey (and they have been very prompt at answering back) about staying there for an upcoming trip to CR. I am also considering La Amistad and the SL as well. I know this is a loaded question, but should I stay at any particular location while there? 2 of us will be there in late July and this will be the first visit for both of us.

I've read some good things about La Amistad but wonder about the construction issue. Also I've heard the the Del Rey's rooms are kinda so-so?

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

Gringo Johnson

Location: Where Am I ???
First time going to CR? First time in the gulch??? Only staying 4 nights ???

This is a no-brainer. Stay in the belly of the beast - Hotel Del Rey!

'Nuff said! Their "so-so" rooms will be just fine. Trust me!!!!! :o

By the way... welcome to the board, and we look forward to hearing about your 1st trip when you return!

MG

I would like to take this opportunity to second Mucho Gusto's opinion about where you should stay. if you would like some idea of what a room at the Hotel Del Rey looks like just click on the little house with the three www at the end of my post and it'll take you to my Google site that has a lot of boring hotel room photographs. Sorry no nudity. But informative for anyone considering staying at the Del Rey.

Do not hesitate to ask questions. Even those who complain about answering them secretly enjoy it. 8)

Appreciate the replies. I guess it's heavily slanted toward the "Mecca" known as DL. Is there a room/floor that is nicer than the others? Any rooms with balconies to sit out on?

The countdown is:

27 days 11 hours 16 minutes until arrival

6th floor of the HDR has very nice large balconys to sunbath out on. About $160.00 per night. (plus $10 per chica fee)
