My best friend would like to take his parents for a week or so of relaxation in Costa Rica (they've never been there before). They are in their seventies and essentially looking for relaxed environment with things that an older couple can do. Money is not really an object so I was thinking of steering them to possible the Marriot Los Suenos and possibly Quepos. Any comments?

I'd send them up to Tabacon Resort for a few days.

If they're going to be in San Jose for a few days, I suggest they stay at the Hotel Don Carlos and take some of the day trips out of there; Poas Volcano, coffee plantation, butterfly farm, etc. The Hotel Don Carlos has an EXCELLENT tour office and will make all the arrangements for them.

The Hotel Don Carlos is a very nice, well run hotel, catering to the eco-tourist, family type clientele. Mongering is very much frowned upon, if not prohibited, as I was told by the management.

They should visit Quepos/MA at least once. If money is no object, I recommend staying at either the Si Como No or the Parador (both have websites).
