Home of the Clarion Hotel and zona Blue. This is a great little neighborhood. There are tons of places to eat ranging from $2 to as much as you want to spend. there are many massage places around as well. During the day you can walk to the Del rey passing 15 bakeries on the way.

20 yards down from Muses and almost directly across the street from St Thomas Hotel is a little restaurant that is terrific. It's an absolute dive, but clean. For less than $2 I had pork, beef, red beans and rice(awesome), sliced tomatoes, plaintains. The owner also served me a glass of fresh squeezed juice from a native fruit. I couldn't tell what it was called- looks like a small, green tangerine. It was delicious. Please check it out when you're down there.

I too like this area very much....I am curious as to some of the veterans opinions or other members that have knowledge/studied of San Jose neighborhoods of Bario Amon.

Would it also be correct to say both the New Fantasy and SL are in this neighborhood?

From my map of San Jose, it seems that the neighborhood San Francisco is across the Rio Torres from Bario Amon.

El Ciego discussed various neighborhoods with me in San Jose and said he thought the neighborhood San Francisco was reasonably pleasant.

And Redman chatted with me about just touring around the San Jose metro area on public busses for getting a down to earth feel for different areas.
