In the past I have stayed at the Presidente. I love the Presidente but I'm thinking of trying SL for variety. Can anyone answer these questions: - Do all the rooms at the SL have safes? - Does SL provide a laundary service? - Can you pay your exit airport tax at SL like you can at The Presidente? Thanks! Whats the deal with this tax thing? Ive only ever payed it in the Dominican Republic and it was a booth 25 feet from the baggage check in and you gave the person 20$ and left? Is it not at the airport in CR? |

JMac Yes you can pay the exit tax at the airport but often there are long lines to do so and you need the exit papers before you check in at your airline. Most guys purchase it on arrival or at several places downtown before heading back to the airport. Do a search on departure tax and you will find lots of information. |

If you're staying at The Sportsmen's Lodge, I suggest you pay your exit tax at the bank on the 2nd floor of the INS Building which is only a several minutes walk from The Sportsmen's Lodge. |

Good suggestion, but make sure you bring your passport (or photocopies). They won't sell you one without it. I had my copies, my buddy didn't. He couldn't get one. -Orange |

I arrived in CR this morning and took care of the exit tax at the airport. Right where you get online for immigration, there is a small desk to the left that sells the tax. Nobody on line so I had it in about 2 minutes. Was out of the airport within 40 minutes of arrival, with bags, tax, etc. -Orange |

You know, the many times I have "exited" CR, sure the lines are sometimes long at the airport, but the do move ! Since they usually have at least 4 of the desks working, I get though usually within less than 15 minutes. But I always get to the airport at least 2 hours early. |
