I will spend at least 3 days in San Isidro del General and Dominical while one of my much younger wingmen hikes up Mt. Chirippo. I am contemplating exploring the stretches of Hwy 34 from Dominical south towards Palmar Norte (and Dominical north towards Quepos). I know this area got pelted by heavy rains in September and I read some old threads about mudslides closing down roads.

Does anybody have current info on road conditions along Hwy 34? (Also any intel on recommended accommodations, beaches and "hot spots" would be appreciated).
