I have called Juan Carlos a few times based on recomendations in on the board.

He stood me up twice and showed up with his wife on another occation. He dropped me an my buddy off and we had to wait an hour for him to return.

He is a great guy. But he doubles up on his commitments and you may be left hanging if he has someone else that he thinks might make him more money.

Where were they located ? Did they have an office in San Jose ?? Any more info you could provide might be helpful to others who may know.

I think Milton and Jose have their business out of San Jose. The first time I met them I booked at the Delray myself and they picked me up. After that I made all of my reservations (Tours, travel...) through them. They also have tours to Nicaragua with an island to rent with a home and boat (Cheap) and they line girls up as well. Thanks again

I just got home from trip number three and although I have two other drivers I used this new one who was recommended to me for the entire trip.

Freddy Bustamante (506) 384-5409

Brand New 2006 15 passenger Van.

Freddy is fluent in English and is Reliable!

For pick-up and drop-off fares he is very fair however I paid him $8 hr. for staying with us all night Tico bar to Tico bar. I am sure you can negotiate anything fair for all parties.

In the short time I have known Freddy he we have become friends. He is apartment hunting for me while I am here in the states and interpetes for me on the phone when I need help and is a really good guy. He was referred to me by Alfonso at Casa Blanca.

Be sure and tell him you got his number on CRT.

RC

FYI-I called him last night to get a ride from the airport for 3 people, he tried to charge us $30. No thanks.

Way to high

Call Juan Carlos

358-3194, I am guessing $100 a day plus gas should get the job done.

Juan Carlos will quote $125 to $150 for the Los Suenos transfer.

Juan Carlos has been very unreliable in my business with him. He stood me up twice.

Interbus goes pretty much anywhere within Costa Rica. If you're thinking about taking a taxi (or using one of drivers listed here), look into IB. They'll pick you up at your hotel and then drop you off. Door-to-door service. For example, a private transfer to Jaco will run $60-80, but Interbus will do the same for $19. If you're going with a group, taking a private transfer might be better, but if your solo or even 2 people IB makes sense.

Also, airport transfers from/to airport cost $6. Don't pay $18-20.

www.interbusonline.com

You should book your spot at least 3-4 days in advance.

Steven Corrales is very dependable. A 30-something tico with dual citizenship who spent years in the US, he understands and speaks fluent English, and knows his way around Costa Rica. He has a nice clean Hyundai van with AC, will go anywhere, and is the most resourceful tico I have ever met. A good choice if you want to go to Jaco. Expensive, but worth it, especially if your Espanol no es bueno. Cell 898-9669. Home 444-3496 (his wife and K*ds do not speak English).
