I have been told that the fare is not in effect until August 31. If that is true what a great deal for South Florida guys coming into town for the anniversary party.

Guys,
I just checked again on US airways website. It seems that seats are going fast. the only available days left in August are the 29th, 30th and 31st for that price($181.65). Return after the holiday!

Click the price box and search by price and you will see it come up as $125 base. It will give you the available days of travel. Good luck but hurry!

GG

Damn did anyone give a reason they stopped the nonstop? I assume not enough traffic to make it worthwhile?

Direct (non-stop) flights of more than 3 hours are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Airlines are not able to consistantly fill the seats so they would rather split up the flight into 90 minute segments to accomodate more cities (more passangers) per flight. If they add up the revs for all segments, they do much better even if they don't fill the planes to capacity compared to full longer non-stop flights.

I guess that's why I can no longer get a non-stop United flight from Washington/Dulles to San Jose. It was great while it lasted, and the price was right. A little over 4 hours each way and my trip in July/August was only $269.00 round trip including taxes and fees. What a deal! I guess those days are over. What a disappointment.
