Are there any decent gyms/health clubs (weight rooms) within a 5 mile radius of Del Rey that offer day rates? Some of the guys at the Del Rey mentioned one but nobody could give me an accurate intersection. thanks in advance for the assist. |

There's a large health club immediately adjacent to the Hotel Tycorbaci within 5 miles of the Del Rey that has everything including an olympic pool that charges $ 10 a day admission or $ 25 for a week. It has all kinds of weights and machines but you need to bring your own towels. |

I highly recommend the gym at the Hotel Corobicà called Multi-Spa in Sabana Norte, the same company has another gym at the Radisson Hotel about 1 mile from downtown San José nearby "El Pueblo" and I think is across from ULACIT a private university. There is also another gym across from el parque central. All these three gyms are comparable to the ones here in the US. Hope the info helps. |

Marlin El Parque central is on avenida segunda which is the widest street in San Jose, across from the main cathedral, I don't remember exactly where the gym is, let me do some research and I will get back to you, the one at the Radisson Hotel is pretty good...you will appreciate the eye candy. |

Check out these threads: http://www.costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=46125 http://www.costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=49128 http://www.costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=34000 The actual name of the Gimnasio near Parque Central is "Grupo Multi-Spa" and it is indicated on the new map (across from the southwest corner of the park). Personally, when I was there I used the fitness center at the Mall San Pedro and was pretty happy with it but I was there for a month and don't recall how they compare to other places for day rates (for shorter trips I usually take a vacation from the gym). Check the threads I provided above for more complete info including rates and phone numbers (and use the search feature next time). |
