Currently looking into an early December trip, but so far it looks like all airline travel rates from Thanksgiving through the end of the year are ski-high. You would think the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas would be discounted a bit, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Can anyone who has booked a trip during this time period in the past advise as to whether it's best to just bite the bullet and get the tickets now, or wait a bit and see if any deals pop up?

Thanks!

I just booked thru travelocity on American West round trip from Las Vegas with connections in Phoenix both ways for $460.15. I book from Nov 22 thru Dec 4. I also reserved the SPA Suite at the Prez for the same dates. I looked for one week and the prices were ranging from 660 to 730. It dip to 460.15, and I jumped on it. Try travelocity.com & sidestep.com for cheap flights. Hope this helps. Pura Vida ! :D

In the past, most of the time, between one month and one & 1/2 months out you will find the best fairs.
But with these crazy times and changing oil prices you just have to keep on checking and checking.

The best of luck,
The Nuck

FYI...oil prices are starting to fall a little. It's back down to around $56/barrell in NY. It doesn't mean much for us right now, but we'll start to see improvements early next year.
