Hello all--I understand that the Presidente offers in-room safes. Any advice as to safeguarding money, etc. while at either SL or HDR?? Thanks very much. All responses appreciated. |

Mackeral, The Hotel Del Rey has in-room safes also. I don't know about The Sportsmen's Lodge, as I haven't yet stayed there. Zebra |

I believe Sportsmen's Lodge has a safe by the front desk. You have to ask the staff to take out and put back your belongings. I am not 100% sure about this but I remember reading or hearing this somewhere. -Orange |

At Sportsmens they will seal up your belongings in a manilla envelope and put it in the front desk safe. I never had any problems doing it this way. Just keep in mind that the desk closes at midnight. |

Opps. Not having an in room safe is a big negative for me. I am in and out of my room safe, mostly getting money, and safe guarding my camera. |

Yes, an in-room safe is a very nice feature. I might add that the safe in my room at The Del Rey was of the electronic, digital variety which was really slick working. I was very impressed with its operation. Zebra |

Gentlemen, All 22 rooms at Sportsmens Lodge will have room safes once the new wing of the Lodge is completed in early October. Until then all safekeepings can be stored away safely in the master safe behind the reception area which is accessable for customers from 8:am until 12:00pm everyday. Best Regards, True Sportsman |

For those of you that have not stayed at the SL before, have no concerns. The hotel itself is safe, the staff honest, and the hotel safe convenient. Your only security issue is keeping a TICA from stealing something while you are not looking (or sleeping). A simple bicycle cable lock fastening your suitcase to a piece of furniture, with all your valuables inside your suitcase is all the protection you need. |

I agree with T&V. An in-room safe is certainly a nice convenience, but is not an absolute necessity. There are lots of other things one can do to safeguard ones property including investing in a good lock. Not the least of which is to be selective as to who one brings back to one's room, particularly when it comes to TLN's or multiple chicas where one's attention will not be focused on that other person(s) 100% of the time. |

Prolijo raises a good point; that is, Trust Your Instincts. Ths fabulous 5 at SL, all of whom Bill has somehow qualified, seem to be honest. At one point I had several in my room, and showers were in order. My pants were hanging on a hook on the bathroom door. (It had my fake wallet in it, one of my little tests). Anyway, the girls asked me to move my pants, so they would not have to touch them, or be suspected later of wrongdoing. |
