Just4me, There is a wealth of information in these forums. I have spent lots of hours reading the posts. Very entertaining and informative. I am trying to get the most out of my time in CR, while reducing the possibility for newbie mistakes (save time, heartache and money.) Use the "Search" function and my guess is all you need to know is already at your fingertips. The vets do appreciate newbies reading what they have already taken time to write. Being new, we look goofy for asking before researching. The CRT vets' experience is priceless, invest some serious time in researching and you will be glad. Trust me, you will laugh your a## off reading what these guys post. Cheers! |

If you are going to Jaco, and its a weekend you may want to arrange advance reservations. Its so close to San Jose that lots of people from the city head there for the weekend. This is the off season, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding quarters during the week at the various beach locations. Like the previous poster said, there is lots of info here on the board, so just dig through it to find a list of hotels in the beach areas. Also, the CRT card should more than pay for itself on just one visit. Hope you have a great trip, and remember "no cien!" |

Avoid the extra stress, book ahead. If you get in early in the day, it's less of a problem. |

If you haven't been to the other beaches in Costa Rica, you will probably think Jaco is just fine. My personal favorite is the 3rd beach in Manuel Antonio Park, by Quepos. Others swear by the Guanacaste beaches. Where to stay is largely a function of budget. Maybe you should give the guys a price range, and they would be more able to help. Be prepared to expect lots of rain at the coast this time of year. |

I figure on spending about 100 bucks a day on rooms although i'd rather not but i have budgeted it that way to be safe. |
