I know its out of the way, but I've stayed in Heredia before, and its sometimes a nice break from San Jose. There is a new hotel (at least I think its new) called "La Catalina." I found it looking at the CRT site for their "sister" hotel in Jaco. Anyone seen it? Any comments? I sent them an email for their rates, but haven't heard back yet.

Also: Thanks to Admin for update June 24 on Casa Conde. That place sounds good, but I can't recall reading any board member reviews on actually staying there. I had come to think it might even be closed.

I stayed there for a couple of nights last January with my chica. Same owner as Copa in Jaco. It was some guys estate, must be nice, beautiful and secluded, very secluded. Was planning on staying there longer but it was too far away from everything. At that time, we were the only guest.

I got an email back a couple of days after I made the original post. The place looks very nice, but is high dollar. Around $170 a night.

Yea...nice place...but more for a weekend retreat with the GF. VERY far away from San Jose activities. Good for a weekend of prayer or reading or writing a good book.
