This place is the nicest short term place for the money closest to downtown I know of...new 1 bedrm studios for $550-600 month short term.
http://www.realdealscr.com/rental_detai ... sp?PID=363

Also apartments Rango in Sabana Sur is another short term apt location. Not sure their monthly rate...but probably negotiable. http://www.ticomerciantes.com/Ramgo.htm

Other info by searching this site can be found on Linda Vista and other short term places that Don Gordo has found. Good luck.

Perhaps, but....

I've been living in a house immediately adjacent to this complex for the last 3 1/2 years and, as a long term resident of the neighborhood, I want to discourage anyone from moving in who is looking for a Del Rey Norte. This is a quiet neighborhood of middle class tico families and professionals. As in any similar area in CR, discretion is important. I have 3 or 4 amigas who I have over on a regular basis but never try to call undue attention to their visits.

Unfortunately during the time I've been here, we've had a couple short term gringo renters who have made it hard for those of us who are living here on a more permanent basis by doing the Ugly American routine--bringing in obvious Del Rey hardcore types as the neighborhood K*ds are coming home from school, etc.

Tman is right, it's a good choice--but only for those who want to be good neighbors.

Meanwhile, Tman, don't you want to recommend some of the places that are also listed by your real estate company and that are in your own neighborhood? http://www.realdealscr.com/rental_detai ... sp?PID=117 has some great views and is walking distance to Mall San Pedro.   Just Trying to help you earn a buck.

I've never stayed there, but I walked over to check out Aparthotel Ramgo while I was staying at Aparthotel el Sesteo, and wasn't even slightly tempted to move.

Apartotel Rango is old and has not been updated. Would not recommend it. Apartotel La Sabana is in the same area and much nicer and more upscale.

Thanks guy's i guess i'll just HAVE to come down for a week first to kick around and pick a place to stay, would any of you want to meet for a drink or 10 on me when i get down there to help me get my bearings? I'm lookin at either the last week of july or first week of august. No pelo i don't want to be the asshole in the neighborhood i really enjoy being low key and don't want to rock the boat so to speak. I also wonder if there are any long term rentals in or near Jaco anyone know?

I had no reason to think you were anything but a gentleman.

May comments were more out of concern of the property being touted to an audience of 3500 mongers. Just because I'm one of them and most are gentlemen, doesn't mean it's in my best interest to have the property pushed as a good short term option for hobbbyists.

I'll PM you with some information that may be helpful.

Pelo de Gato...thanks for the knowledgeable update. I have had a couple CRTers stay there successfully...no problems to my knowledge...and I know the owner. Still, discretion and lowkey is probably a good thing anywhere in town outside of the gulch. This is not a place for wild parties with 15 Delrey girls in the pool. One at a time and you should have no problems 8) . Yes, we have a number of rentals on our site, but not many are month to month for furnished...and not in that price range.

Update on the Ramgo...they have a few remodeled rooms and are bigger apartments and cheaper than most of the Aparthotels in the Sabana area. Thats why I mentioned them...for bargain hunters who want space....a regular apt if you will.
