I had a confirmed reservation at the Paradise. I just finished checking in. They had no record of my reservation. I showed my card and the girl and the front desk said there is NO such thing as a discount and I had to pay $65 instead of the promised price of $45.00 She then tried the classic Bait and Switch. No room for $45.00 but I'll show you the $65 room. So basically after a long discussion she finally gave me the room for $45.00 Basically, I would not want my worst enemy to get the room. The room SMELLS SO BAD. The bathroom is so small you really can't walk into it. Would recommend staying away. |

FF: I am quite surprised as Richard the owner is accomodating in every sense of the word. 99% of the reviews have been very good here. I just called the Paradise directly for you and they have indicated that you have been taken care of at this point, and we certainly aplogize for any inconvienience, and hope that you enjoy the rest of your stay. |

I stayed at the Paradise Hotel in Jaco and would NEVER spend another night there. I reserved via the interenet without any problems but once I arrived the room was very dissappointing. The A/C did not work, the toilet did not work (and had shit still in it) and there were no towels. They did move me to another room finally but the fan did not work and the room smelled quite rank! I don't expect 4-5 Star accomodations in rural areas but if your going to reccommend a Hotel I would hope they would be better than this place. Richard was outstanding and did his best to accomodate the problems but the Hotel sucks! |

I stayed at the Paradise Hotel on Sunday, June 19 in room 7 and the room was adequate and satisfactory. I did not have an advance reservation and walked up to book a room. The green season rate is $35 a night through December 15 and they did not give a CRT discount. You would be disappointed if you were expecting five star accomodations but it is a good mid-range accomodation for the price. The a/c worked great, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, water was hot and had fresh flowers in it. The TV did not have a remote and the private bathroom was small but clean. I liked the location because it is on the main road, a half block from the Beetle Bar and across the street from the other bar that becomes the hot spot when the Beetle Bar closes. I was traveling alone and did not want to stay at a hotel like the Copacabana where you had to walk down a dark road because someone had snatched my bag earlier in the day. If I had been with a group, there might have a different consideration. My two cents worth. goboy |
