I stayed @ the Copacabana Hotel this past Saturday, May 28. Alex from Blue Van Service picked us up from the Hotel Presidente (Great hotel and the food is wonderful). Once we arrived at the hotel the lady at front desk said that they do not honor CRT rates anymore. Luckily Alex used his connections and they gave us a discount rate of $79.00/night. Alex is a great guy I recommend him, although he did charge us $90 one way for the trip. Is that the CRT Rate? He said it was I didn’t complain though. They were going to charge us $20 per guest, negotiated down to $10. The rooms were OK. I had no hot water but considering the heat and the trouble I was getting into didn't mind. All and all the hotel is not bad. The pool area had at least 7 girls in bikinis. They were all friendly too.

As soon as my CR High comes down I will post my trip report. I am like Pookie from New Jack City; they just keep calling me...

BTW had some friends who stayed @ the hotel Paradise and did not like the rooms. The suites were ok, but the regular rooms look awful. The ambiance just was not there, but what to expect for $45.

Can you please confirm whether or not you had previously booked the rate as you are supposed to? We have been in constant contact with LEO who has not by all rumors had a heart attack and is still there.

We have been assured any accounts booked with the CRT rate with Leo have been and will continued to be honored not to mentio NO tica fees!

Personally I am getting tired of the non communication between the Copa and our guests, as It is the responsibility for them to make an effort to insure your rates and non fees for guests.

Alex has posted that his rate to Jaco is 90.00. I am sure there are other less expensive ways to get to Jaco, but he has a top quality van speaks perfect english and is a good guy to have around....

I stayed at the Copa from 8-14 May of this year, and received the
CRT rate, and no guest fee. Please save a copy of your confirmation
and present that, along with your CRT VIP card, this has worked
for me without any problems the two times I have stayed at
this hotel...no problems at all.

Ten of us stayed there in April and I posted on my Copa feelings, some good some poor. But we are going back in late July (using Alex again by the way for transport) and both times I booked thru Barbara in Toronto. She answers when you call the 800 or 866 number on the Copa website. We are paying $69 this time for the regular rooms (down from $99 in high season in April) and $129 for the suites (down from $149, I think in April?) These are pre CRT discounts. So, even if things have changed re: the discount, I'm not unhappy with these prices. Wile Coyote

Gentlemen:
LMOE has been kind enough to Clarify He did not make a pre reservation in fact he left it up to the driver who said he could handle everything.

In this particular situation, as with any sometimes the Discounts are provided by managers who run the day to day operations of the hotel and even owners have no knowledge of what has been discussed or agreed upon.

At the COPA Leo, the GM is our point of contact. If you make reservations at the COPA DUe so by contacting and asking for LEO calling directly or emailing him using the data on the VIP Page. If confirmed you will receive your CRT Rate as well as NO CHICA FEES..

As stated We are in contact with Leo and everything is status QUO just a mis comunication between our member & not having a pre determined Reservation.
