Guys, I'm considering heading out to the CR coast for a couple days over the Memorial Day holiday, but all these reports of intense heat and humidity are making me wonder if its worth it. I've been to Jaco in November and Puerto Viejo in February, and so far found the heat tolerable, but I'm getting the feeling this might be a different story. Any recommendations on a particular part of the coast - either Pacific or Carribean side - where the weather is most likely to be palatable this time of year? Thanks in advance! |

Been to Puerto Viejo several times in the summer. May and June. The "rainy season" was more like a brief afternoon shower and the humidity did not spike like in FL. Very comfortable. I am heading back down there in late May for a little surfing. As for chica friendly, I don't know...never saw a working girl. Did get plenty of action from the discos and local bars. The hotels never said anything. It is a hippie rasta town though.....Free love! Minus the cost of drinks! |

I prefer rainy season at the beach. Normally cooler, prices cheaper, and sunny mornings/rainy afternoons. Just plan accordingly. |

I have spent some time on the Pacific beaches in the summer.You can count on rain between 3 and 5 PM but the rest of the days are usually nice.Makes for great time for a nap and some fun if you have good company.rbc100 |
