In DG's post about his mugging he mentions a pirate taxi. I assume he is talking about so called freelances who do have permits or stickers?? |

Pirate taxi are a way of life in San Jose. They do not have the usual red car and do not have a meter. They operate mostly in areas that regular taxi will not go. They are usually a few more colones (make sure you agree on a price before you get in) but for the most part are as safe as a regular cab. |
