One of my 'normal' dates is there.
Anybody got info on accomodations, ambiance, travel time, diving, etc.
Is there a casino, favorite restaurants, whatever.
Any and all feedback appreciated.

Texas&Vegas,

I've been to Flamingo bay several times.
Mainly for sportfishing.
Top end place to stay was the Malia Playa Conchal resort ( all inclusive)
It changed hands along w/ the name. old # 654-4123 (could still be good)
Really great pool, rooms and golf course. But not cheap.
Good place to stay is the Flamingo Marina 654-4141
Another is the Flamingo beach Hotel 654-4011
There is a comb. Reastaurant ( not that good), bar, disco and "small" casino
in Flamingo bay (up the hill) It is called Amberas
A really good restaurant is the "happy Snapper" it also has a disco.
A fun thing to do is rent Quad runners and go from Flamingo Bay to Tamarindo.
Drive time- S.J. to Tam. about 5hrs.
Fly time 1hr.? plus $20 taxi to Flamingo.
Also Taxis really rip you off there !!!! No meters and they all know if you are there you are a rich American.
Have fun, Nucknfuts

The former Melia is a really nice hotel and golf course complex. It has been maybe 6 or 7 years since I stayed there.THere was a very good seafood restaurant in Brasilito between the hotel and FlamingoBeach if it is still there.Seems like the hotel is 3 or 4 kilometers from Famingo.rbc100
