I have never rented a car at SJO but I'm considering it next time. American Airlines has a "double miles" special with Avis and the total price comes to about $120 for 3 days including taxes, but not insurance. Anybody have experience with this? If I read the fine print right, it appears customers are responsible for $2G if the car is stolen (deductable) and $1G in an accident. That sounds a little scary to me. Any advice/corrections welcomed. Jazz |

I have recentlly been getting the max in insurance on any rental, after one agent explained a lot of the fine print a year ago. It was too detailed/and too long ago for me to relate, but it impressed upon me to get as much coverage as possible for the little extra it cost. YMMV, depending on how well versed you are on third world legalese |
