Just texted the # on whatsapp and asked why I can't book online and they responded "we closed yesterday".
Today is 10/16

Any other cheap spots to stay at near TAO?

Damn that’s too bad, it as someone who stayed there I do understand.

The bar and hotel concept should be perfect there but the rooms are outdated & don’t have ac so you have to sleep with windows open allowing all the noise from patrons of the bar that wander over to the lower balcony/parking.

Everything. There were a few guests completing their stays there, but no staff and the place is not open.

I am surprised that it didn't close much sooner. I stayed there a month, and it was pretty dead. And with only 8 rooms it would be hard to make much money on them. If it is true that the rent was 13K a month, I doubt that it ever had a chance.

Yep. He was paying for any improvements, and without a long term lease on the property it was money down the crapper, plus the costs of just keeping it open.

Didn't the guy running it get robbed at knife point? I heard thats what happened, could be misinformation. Sounded like 2 Chicas & their dude.

Never heard about that. But he might have not wanted to talk about it. But I think that is nothing to do with why he is closing down in any case.

When I was there in August/Sep it was pretty dead. and the reception area looked abandoned. Like just about everything else in the gulch. But some peeps keep beating the dead horse and showing up!
