Do some of the hotels provide transportation from the airport? Seems I read some report about the Amon or maybe Sportsmans doing this. Just wondered since the Pres. is booked and am looking for a room elsewhere... |

Think I read the Amon will pick up for $10.00. I'd pass on the pick up and take the airport taxi for $12.00. Your flight is late or they're stuck in traffic to get you... more can go wrong than right. Good luck Bing ![]() |

For those of us who know our way around SJ, the airport cabs are fine, but I would imagine it would be a help for a rookie. The language school I went to years ago had somebody pick me up, and it worked out alright. Going to Hotel Castillo, I've usually explained to the driver where it is, though I expect they could find it knowing, "cien metros al norte de INS in barrio Amon." |

Paco, yes the Amon hotel does have taxi pickup to and from the airport. As Bing stated it is not free. Bestwestern downtown and other major business hotels also have airport shuttle. I agree with Veelee that official airport taxis are fine and I prefer using them. They are usually very nice taxi, in good condition and have A/C. Veelee also makes a good point that flights sometimes come in late and your scheduled pickup taxi may not wait for you. As my flight from Hell (AA#2167) from Dallas has a record of 90% being late for at least 2 hours. |

Pacoloco: Be a man stay at the Del Rey. Just had to say that. Have you considered the Holiday as a place to stay. The rooms are nice and if you get one of the upper ones the view is great. The walk to his Z- blue would not be much. If I remember right thay offer a complimentary breakfast now. They do charge $25 for the girls but there's a number of ways around that. Lee |

All of the upscale hotels out by the airport have the free shuttle service. And I know for a fact that the Irazu has a free shuttle that runs to downtown. Irazu is a nice hotel and chica friendly and really a very short ride to downtown. dapanz1 |

Just to satisfy my curiosity why would you recommend one of the highest priced least Chica friendly hotels in the gulch? |

Ding Dong: Did not really recommend. It was more of a suggestion if you were unable to find someplace else to stay that was close to our little playground. I have used the holiday before and if you watch their Internet rates you can get a room for $75 a night. That's a good price for a nice room. Now it has been a couple of years so things could have changed but when I stayed there I never paid for a girl to go to my room. One of the simplest ways out of it at the time was just to go up to the casino or restaurant get off the elevator walked down the hall get on another elevator and go to the room. If you like to use agencies they will be much less apprehensive about going to the Holiday. By the way Pacoloco has gotten to know me and is long past being swayed by my opinion. Lee |

Post subject: | A PS. |
As a PS. As a post script to what I said above. One of the reasons I was able to get girls in-to the holiday without any hassle is that I do not go home with dogs. You see Buzz I may not have any class but I do have good taste. Lee |

Buzz: ( elevator etiquette ) Relax Buzz it is safe to return to the Holiday. I have never used the elevators at the Holiday for interviews. But if you ever plan on staying at the Riviera in Las Vegas I will tell you which ones to avoid. Lee |

Thanks for the clarification but still think it a poor choice. Current HI rate is $85.00 + 13.93 tax + 25.00 chica fee = $123.93 Presidente CRT rate $48.00 + 7.87 tax + 0.00 chica fee = $55.87 If you take the $68.00 savings and spend it in the right way you could say the Presidente offers free breakfast plus free chica. ![]() ![]() ![]() I understand you said if unable to find someplace else but do not think that likely with all the great hotels in the gulch that have been listed in previous posts that are chica friendly and a lot less expensive than the HI. |

A nite clerk gave me a bit of grief one nite, and I pointed it out to him on the site.No more problems. |

You did not mention where that was. I doubt if it was at the HH in San Jose and if it was would have to the same chica every night. |
